BOARD OF DIRECTORS

Board President

Graham has 40 years of managerial and executive-level experience in highly respected national and global enterprises in both the private and public sectors, along with over 10 years of board experience in the not-for-profit sector, including the boards of the United Way of Halton and Hamilton, Hamilton Community Foundation, Compassion Society of Halton, and Community Living Burlington.

Graham and his wife (along with their pet rabbit) live just steps away from the Burlington city limits in the east end of Oakville, having recently moved there after spending almost 20 years as residents of Burlington.

1st Vice President

Jessica Stevenson is a graduate of the University of Windsor and McMaster University. She obtains and Undergraduate Degree in Gerontology and Health and a Masters of Social Work. Jessica has worked her career serving vulnerable populations in a variety of settings including Community, Acute Care and Long Term Care. She has a passion for learning.

Jessica’s interest and involvement in CLB was driven by her desire to give back to the community. Jessica’s personal and professional values of inclusion, dignity and advocacy align with the mission and values of CLB.

2nd Vice President

Cam has previously served as a CLB Director for two terms ending in 2016. He has been an active and contributing member for the last 48 years. He was part of the original group of members that started 'Walkn' Roll'. Cam has helped in fundraising for many CLB programs and services.

He has been a strong advocate for the reform of developmental service during his 36 year career in public service as a Halton Public School Board Trustee, Member of Provincial Parliament, Cabinet Minister and Mayor of the City of Burlington.

Cam has experience as an Executive Director of several professional organizations in business and health care. Currently he chairs the Toronto Foundation for Student Success, providing 180,000 daily nutrition programs in Toronto schools and a Director of an organization that helps educate and feed over 3,000 children annually in Haiti.

Cam and his wife Elaine have three daughters and two grandchildren. He continues to serve his community with passion and commitment. As Cam says "It is a joy to support and help the many family and friends of CLB because they are making our city better and more inclusive".

Treasurer

Danish has over 12 years of progressive experience in Finance, ranging in various industries including technology, consumer goods and manufacturing. Danish is currently the Director of Finance at NeuPath Health Inc. 

Danish obtained his CPA, CA designation at Crowe Soberman LLP and subsequently at Deloitte LLP, where he led audit and assurance engagements for various clients, including not-for-profit enterprises. Danish also led the financial reporting team at Rogers Communications for 5 years, with a total portfolio value over $10B annual revenues. He is also a Licensed Real Estate Salesperson in Ontario. 

At the University of Toronto Mississauga while obtaining his undergraduate degree, Danish served as the Treasurer of UTM Commerce Society for one term and also volunteered with Community Living Mississauga for 2 years. 

Danish and his wife Hilary live in Burlington and have two cats. He is very passionate about serving his local community and excited about being part of Community Living Burlington.

Director

David joins the Board as a parent of three grown children, including a child with a developmental disability who currently lives at CLB’s Daryl House. Experiencing firsthand the profound impact of the programs that CLB delivers, David is committed to looking for ways to support and expand these services to help even more families in our community.

After graduating from the University of Toronto with a BSc in Psychology and an MBA, David has built his career in the computer software industry. As a senior sales executive, he utilizes a consultative approach and a business solution focus with his clients. He has developed the skills to manage complex, multistakeholder projects with a collaborative approach and with a goal to building tightly connected vendorclient teams, both pre- and post-sales. David brings well-honed interpersonal and communication skills help to guide and motivate resources towards a team win and is driven by making his clients successful. Both process- and results-oriented, he aims to ensure achievement of desired outcomes with efficiency and effectiveness.

Adding to these skills, David brings to the board a high level of energy, enthusiasm and compassion to support the team’s directives and to support Burlington’s special needs community.

Director

Prashant began his involvement with Community Living over 15 years ago when he was a volunteer support worker for the summer activity program to help support his neighbor. He has since participated in the Community on Campus program at University of Toronto, Summer Teen Activity Program, Coaching baseball, and as a support worker for a group home.

As an advocate for individuals with developmental disabilities, he has had the opportunity to meet and work with various members of Community Living and is passionate about serving the community through volunteering.

Prashant is a graduate of the University of Toronto and currently working in the Finance Industry. He enjoys road biking, playing soccer and travelling. 

Director

Alyson began her involvement with Community Living Burlington over 30 years ago as a participant in the annual "Bike-a-Thon".   As an active advocate of her brother, she has had the opportunity to meet and get to know many of the people at Community Living Burlington.
Alyson has worked for the Halton Catholic District Board since 2004 as an elementary school teacher.  She is currently teaching grade 2 in Milton.  Her specialty is Special Education.

As a teenager, she was involved with Junior Civitan Club, an International service group focused on assisting members of Community Living.  She served as Club President for many years in addition to District Deputy Governor.

She is an active member of her church; her other interests are riding her motorcycle and travelling.   She is also fluent in Spanish.

Director

Mike joins the Board with first-hand knowledge of how positively Community Living Burlington can impact individuals and families. His late brother Tim spent years involved with the many programs and events offered by CLB.

 After graduating from McMaster University with a Labour Studies degree, Mike began his career as a police officer. He has a passion for serving his community professionally and personally through volunteering at Big Brothers Big Sisters of Hamilton & Burlington as well as the Carpenter Hospice - Burlington. Mike recently earned designations in Project and Risk Management from the University of Toronto as well as a Masters in Public Safety from Wilfrid Laurier University.         

Mike is a member of the Risk and Ethics sub-committees of the CLB Board.  

Director

Joe and his family (wife, Debbie, daughter Sarah and son Joey) have been involved with CLB since 2002. Joe was on the Board previously and had the honour of serving as president from 2007to 2009.

Joe is now retired from his position as counsel with the Ministry of the Attorney General and in March 2016 was appointed as a part-time member of the Licence Appeal Tribunal.

Sarah is twenty-eight, is intellectually disabled, attending the Lifeskills Satellite Program and resides with a family as part of the Life Share Program.

Joe graduated from the governance course for non-profit organizations offered through the United Way of Burlington & Greater Hamilton and DeGroote School of Business and is a keen supporter and would like to see all Directors of the Board take the program.

Director

Cathy has previously served on Community Living Burlington's Board of Directors for two (2) terms, ending in 2017. Cathy's professional background is in education, teaching in both middle school and post-secondary level.

After retiring from teaching, Cathy worked for a private telecommunication company as the Director of Community Investment. Her role was to develop and oversee a nationwide scholarship program, develop a series of conferences for students from all provinces and territories, and to organize a volunteer force within the company. Cathy has always valued and embraced a collaborative approach to achieve desired outcomes.

Cathy has a sincere desire to give back to Community Living Burlington in gratitude for their many years of support of her son, Mark. Cathy strongly believes and practices the values of CLB, and is an avid supporter of programs and projects within the agency.

Cathy has completed the Governance Program offered through the Degroote School of Business and currently sit on the Board of two (2) private Family Foundations.
